Senior Department
Welcome to the King’s House School Senior Department, home to the boys from Years 4 to 8. In their first year here, Year 4, the boys have a form base where they have their English and Maths lessons. They also start to take advantage of the wonderful facilities here and have some lessons in specialist rooms.There are specialist Art and Design Technology rooms, two Computing suites, Science laboratories, a theatre, sports hall and many other subject specific rooms. There are three big outdoor play areas too.In Year 5 the boys move to specialist classrooms and teachers for all subjects. As well as the traditional academic subjects the boys also have weekly lessons in Art, DT, Music, Computing, Drama and PE, plus two games sessions per week.

Junior Department
Welcome to the Junior Department, the home of boys at King’s House from Reception to Year 3. The JD offers its pupils a unique, caring and stimulating environment, which encourages each child to seize every learning opportunity. It is housed in two beautiful Victorian buildings which have been sensitively extended and enhanced to provide a wonderful learning environment.In Reception the boys are gently introduced to the school routine whilst following the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. During their time in the Junior Department, pupils are based in their classrooms with their teacher and teaching assistant, but also have specialist teachers for French, Music, PE and Computing. Over the next four years they develop their skills across all areas of the curriculum and become confident, independent learners.

Nursery
Nestled in The Alberts, in the heart of the community in Richmond, at King’s House Nursery you will find an oasis of warmth, laughter and a wealth of resources to inspire little minds and create a love of learning. They are an educational Nursery where girls and boys are taught and supported by a team of highly experienced staff. Children join the Caterpillar Class as rising 3s, and move up to Butterfly Class as rising 4s. They want the very best for your child and they strive to give every child the opportunity to flourish and grow in a safe, nurturing environment.  As a result, they are proud of the Nursery and of the happy, self- confident, thoughtful children who respect each other and the wonderful surroundings they share.

Co-Curricular Activities
At King’s House School we currently offer more than 30 different clubs, all planned with the boys in mind. Activities are on offer before, during and after school and run by a combination of school staff and outside specialists.The co-curricular programme is varied, broad and exciting, creating opportunities for pupils to increase their knowledge, to pursue their interests and talents, stimulate passions or simply try something new.The activities range from Art Club, LAMDA and Drama, to Lego Club, Cookery and Computing,

Learning Development
At King’s House School they believe that each child is unique and has their own unique talents. At various times throughout their school careers, children may need additional support in order to fulfil their potential.Where appropriate, our Learning Development Team liaises closely with teachers, parents and external professionals to ensure early identification of additional support and plan appropriate intervention.

Trips & Visits
An extensive schedule of day and residential trips to places of interest in and around London, throughout the UK and abroad, supports class work, fuels cross-curricular learning and broadens educational understanding.All pupils can take advantage of the proximity to London, with regular trips to museums, galleries and theatres. They also organise regular visits to nearby Richmond Park and Kew Gardens. These trips support class work, fuel cross-curricular learning and help to foster a sense of community in the local area. Pupils build confidence and independence on trips, fostering friendships.

King’s House School is an independent day preparatory schools for boys aged 3 to 13 with a co-educational Nursery in Richmond, Surrey. The main points of entry to the school are in the Nursery (2+ for boys and girls), Reception (4+) and Year 3 (7+).

Scholarships

Bursaries
The Governors of King’s House School are committed to broadening access to the School by offering eligible parents/guardians means-tested financial support with the payment of school fees.Such support is known as a Bursary and Bursaries may be awarded in the form of a discount of up to 100% on tuition fees payable, depending on the financial, compassionate or other pertinent circumstances of applicants.Bursary Awards are available to all parents/guardians of children entering any year group from Year 3 up to Year 6. Bursaries can be awarded to relieve hardship where a pupil’s education and future prospects would otherwise be at risk (for example in the case of redundancy).
